My 75 is over 10 years old and it has a center brace, so how long ago did they make glass thicker? Just curious.

I dont beleive there was a majic year every aquarium manufacturer suddenly started using different thicknesses of glass and center braces. Like I said my tank is 1/2" glass, over 10 years old, only 4' long, and had a brace. Probably varried quite a bit by manufacturer.
LFS manager said 1/2" glass should be ok with no brace .. he said he has had 100 + gal tanks without them.. Then again it isn't his house if she lets go... for piece of mind I had him order me a frame with 2 braces made by AGA that fits , it'll be here Fri...
