150 gallon african tank

i realized why the rainbows had been chewed up recently. i had just done a whole bunch of water changes for 3 days in a row and it triggered the africans to want to breed. so the africans started going crazy by fighting and taking territory. i have them acclimating to my 125 right now. thanks for all the info guys.

really enjoyed looking at your africans - I'd have to get a pen and paper out to try and write down some names as I go - will try and do that tomorrow :)

this is very similiar to the tank i had for 4 years until they all died due to a power outtage. I had only purchased 6 fish for my 55gal and they reproduced so quick i had to give a ton of em away. Definately going to miss my cichlids

Your tank is absolutely beautiful...I love my cichlids... I niece had gave my 2 cichlids from her tank but I don't know what sex they are and plus I had purchased some as well..They grow so fast ..The 2 she gave me have doubled in size since she gave them to me ..those are the only 2 she has left since she lost them in a ice storm that knocked the power out for days and the electric company would not let her in to get them, she was so upset..So i just hope these 2 survive for a long time for her sake because if they have babies I want to set her back up with cichlids from the same family of the ones she lost ..I will try and send you a picture of them and maybe you can identify the sex..I have tried venting and still cannot figure it out ..

i am the wrong person to ask for african id's. i know the bottom one looks like a yellow lab, the middle one looks to be a darker version of the top but im not sure what they are ( even though i have them lol). i just set up the tank and bought a whole buch of fish. many survived but then the house filter wasnt working during a water change and 75% died within minutes. i saved the large peacock and a few other and restocked. lost my mono's and scats too :(. as of now i was hoping other people could identify them for me. i am not a big fan of them because they are mean and fight a lot with any peaceful fish, especially when breeding. my red tail botias were able to kick their butts for territory ...but they died in an ick infestation. thanks for the compliments everyone!:)

aww robin look at my babies lol

amy I love that snake looking thing,,That is too cool what is the name of it!!
