150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

BK (and anybody else who would like to contribute): I want to get the Retro Kit from ReefGeek ordered - which bulbs would you suggest?

^^this one right??
Comes with bulbs but email them and ask for
3- 10000K
3- 6700K
That way the lighting wont be 2 blue or 2 yellowish.

I don't think we ever answered the question:

2 Eheim 2250 / 2260s or 3 2217s??

The 2217s come with stacked media, with the 2250 / 2260 media is not included. Is buying / stacking media in the 2250 / 2260 a big deal?

Eheim owners??
I did comment on it before. Said you can go for the ones without the media, just check your lfs and see if they carry them biorings and what not in large quantities. And see how much it cost.
Eheim media will cost you a TON~

Cf are you going for one massive piece of driftwood in this tank for visual effect or several smaller pieces/branches for effect.... can't wait for my 'dark old' ADA wood to arrive...

Not sure yet Vader ... I have been looking at pics to get a better feel. Both look good. This site / company has a couple of galleries with amazing ideas!

We are heading out early tomorrow for vacation. Will be gone until mid next week. Excited to go (and excited to get back). Will be ordering tank, stand, canopy, fans, retro lights, and filters as soon as we get back. Also plan to be washing substrate and boiling drift wood while waiting for the goodies to arrive.

Time to get serious (lol)!!

Should I wait a bit longer?!?

2 more pages and then its time

for the 150 you should do stones and wood.
Check out local land scaping places. They sell stones there for cheap. Perhaps you can find some nice ones.

As far as wood, the old black wood is nice but sure is expensive lol
Try manzanita :P If you have a vision in your head how you want the wood to be and can bring that into words perhaps manzanitadude can find a piece for you.

Also will just throw out a random thing.. Dont use glosso for such a large tank. Even after looking through some of the AGA contest submissions, they commented on a few tanks that had used extra small foreground plants in their gigantic tanks. Get something that normally goes above 1"
