150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

2 more pages and then its time

for the 150 you should do stones and wood.
Check out local land scaping places. They sell stones there for cheap. Perhaps you can find some nice ones.

As far as wood, the old black wood is nice but sure is expensive lol
Try manzanita :P If you have a vision in your head how you want the wood to be and can bring that into words perhaps manzanitadude can find a piece for you.

Also will just throw out a random thing.. Dont use glosso for such a large tank. Even after looking through some of the AGA contest submissions, they commented on a few tanks that had used extra small foreground plants in their gigantic tanks. Get something that normally goes above 1"

Okay - 2 more pages it is (lol).

Just not diggin' stones. They look too much like - well - stones. I am still kind of open to the idea - I'm going to keep looking a bit more.

I think the glosso went out the window with the tall tank and the fact that I have a great batch in the 45 - really want the tanks to be entirely, at least mostly, different.

ill be looking across more photos of large tanks and when i find something good with stones/wood ill send you so you can get an idea of whats possible with them..

Have you calculated the final cost of the tank/supplies/plants??

I appreciate it - would be excited to see what you may find. Remember, gone for a week!

I may need a bail out plan of my own for this one. Haven't totaled yet ... I would imagine around 4 when it's all said and done.

Can feed a small country with that type of $$ lol
(or can just send it to me and ill give you a photo of vaders tank so you can place on your wall and occasionally add diff photos of plants. Would be cool trust me, can have HC, some great high light plants :silly:)

actually you can go with two 2217, they will provide enough filtration. BUT you would need to get 1-2 powerheads (Karolia would be nice) so that you have great flow and no dead spots for algae growth.
But if you want to go with 3 2217 then heck it will be just as good

Ahhhh that sooooothing Eheim green tubing. DFS has them for ~$150 each.
