The sample was only lightly sanded before applying stain and then sprayed with a thin coat of poly. No doubt the final will look deeper (better - lol)!

That's the one the Mrs. picked out also - it's way ahead (lol) in the race, but would still love to get more opinions / input.

I think a red mahogany would look best; but out of those, I'd go with the red oak.

would definately go with the red oak, unless your open for suggestions then i would definately go with the mahogany finish, the dark color is so amazing! cant go wrong with it

Certainly open to all suggestions! Red Oak is the definite leader (on this board and around here). As much time as I have into this I will definitely take a look at the mahogany. Thanks - I appreciate it!!
