150 Gallon Build Thread ... From the Start

Progress ~~

Lights - added the retro kit to the light board (it all went "very" smoothly - nice kit)

Used a square to get the end caps and spacers mounted straight

Once I knew the distance between 2 spacers with bulbs and reflectors attached, I could use a small block of wood and a square to mount the rest of the spacers evenly across the board

End cap wired and inserted into spacer (all you do is insert the wire until it clips in place and then clip the end cap into the spacer - couldn't have been any easier)

Arranging the bulbs - there are 2 circuits (ballasts) - one has the 2 outside bulbs and the one in the middle and the other has the remaining two. We will be able to run 160, 240, or 400 watts.

All bulbs in place ... sweeeeeeeeet!

Adding the reflectors - very, very bright

The finished product - wow!!

Thanks Matt - yes, the stain is looking good. That's birch plywood stained for the light board. The stain on the alder (stand and canopy exterior) looks a bit different. Actually - IMHO - looks a little better (lol).

Also, thanks for the heads up on the tank. Marcie emailed back and said next Thursday. I will be in Vegas for a few days and try and get by to pick up the tank next weekend. No where to put it yet (lol) ...

Terriffic looking!
