150 Gallon Discus Tank

Sounds great! I use all dry ferts. I have great success with every plant that I put in the tank. I have yet to really lose a plant. Naturally there is some adjustment when adding plants. A little melt down for about a week and the BAM! They are back in full force! I know what kind of water changes you go through with your stock tanks. How full (fish per gallon) are your show tanks? If you are at a minimum of 1 fish per 6 gallons, you could totally get by with weekly water changes. This will allow your plants to take advantage of the ferts that you are trying to give them. If you get a chance, snap some pics. I'd love to see and keep me up to date on yout Cali plans!

Very nice tank and fish! You must have a very large kitchen! Gee, I wonder if my sons would miss the refrigerator and stove.....hmmmm....

Pinkertd,

I had an addition put on the house a few years back and added an attached dining room. I was able to place the tank on an unoccupied wall. It fir nicely and looks great! It became quite a conversation piece during dinner!

Sir Fresh,

I am in San Diego, CA if you were asking me.

Yea , I am a bit over one per 6 gal in the 125, we are thinning out the schools . I like our water to look like GIN :evil_lol:, Our 46 has 4 -4" that are pairing up as I write this. We also have a 55 heavily planted with Platinum Angels this is a gorgeous tank with the deep green and the Platinums just pop out . We are defiantly setting up in Ca. this spring or summer so we can be ready for the busy season.

Thanks again,
Pops

Sounds awesome! Have you considered an FX5 for your 125? This would increse your bacteria bed and better handle the biological load. That's what I use and have no issues. Being rated at 400 gallons, it's a great filter and doesn't create too much current. I'll have to take some pictures of my angel tank and get them up so you can check it out. What part of California will you set up in? I'd love to help out if I can! What are you planning to market? Discus and Angels? Stay in touch Pops!

I have considered the FX5 but I can get the 404's for around $70.00. if I buy 10 or more. We plan to set up in the 91306 area or maybe LA we have several Customers and friends bugging us to set up in their area . I will do some market research and decide where the best location will be to launch. Our signature fish are Angels we have this down to a science and are ENHANCING all our stock along with creating new strains. We will also take the Stendker Discus with us since we believe they are the best for the $ . We have not lost a single fish from Stendker but some Asian imports did not fair so well.

Thanks again,
Pops
