A FW dip on the corals, fish or inverts? It isn't a bad idea for some corals. I'd do not it with fish or mobile inverts.
Acclimate the corals just as you would your mobile inverts, slowly to bring them to the same salinity, pH, temp. With polyps I recommend also do a Lugols dip (direction on container) and then inspecting thoroughly for nudibranches, nudi egg spirals (teeny tiny you might need a magnifying glass if not used to looking for them), sundial snails, etc. Not a bad idea to QT them and repeat as necessary until you're sure they are predator/pest free.
