i actually did get a light, should of said that and just thinking about water flow, i guess i could just get the little hob and not carbon filter it and let the live rock do it job and just have if for water flow?

as far as the anemone is it going to be a neusance or what?

alot of small SW tanks like that use a FOWLR system. "fish only with live rock". the rock acts as filtation, so a HOB would probly be just fine to provide a little extra filtration and current.

yea thats what i figured the live rock would do more than enough for filtration, so besides trying to have less equipment showing an hob probably wouldnt be any more help

that little filter looks pretty awesome i must say, sounds perfect. I might have to look into trying to get one, we dont have a petco here and petsmart doesnt have that

good news, my apstatia is gone, assuming my shrimp actually ate it, but the hole is empty and i havent seen it all day so and i got a new inhabitant, a tomato clownfish, pics to come in a little bit

You could consider an Aquaclear 70 powerfilter. It will provide enough flow for the tank without the need of additional powerheads, you can mod the filter to hold a small 50w heater (getting it out of the tank), possibly make a refugium for chaeto, and finally, it will add a bit more water volume which small reefs like that could always use.

thats something to consider also, would it be better for me not to use the carbon bags, since i got the live rock, or would it better to have that type of filtration along with the live rock?

From my experience, carbon typically loses its strength fairly quikly. If you were to use anything, I would recommend purigen or chemipure. Purigen is rechargeable as well so it saves having to buy new bags on a regular basis.

When I had my pico, I divided AC70 into three compartments...sponge to catch anything big, purigen and heater, fuge for cheato. The nice thing is you can make all the compartments from parts of the media basket and some silicone.
