20 gallon community tank

What kind of tropical plants could thrive in my aquarium, being a well-lit, no Co2, maybe some ferts, tank?

Suggestions please.

Cherry shrimp were way too expensive at the LFS ($4.99) so now I'm going to buy 15 ghost shrimp instead. I need more in case of overfeeding.

Should I add salt to the tank? If so, How much salt should I add per gallon? Will the salt affect the frogs?

Adding salt, without any valid reason, is a waste of time and money. Use it for ich cases only.

I've put the whole tank on a delay of a month or so until I can get my pond set up so my goldfish can leave the tank that is sitting on the place where I want the 30 gallon.

Also, I don't have enough money yet to start it up with some decent plants or fish.
