20 gallon long build

Looks good so far. Do you have an ETA for fish?

Not yet. I am kind of gently applying the brakes for a moment. The reason is, I am not ready. Still need to rebuild the reg. Buy the correct adaptor (even though the seller claims the one I have will work.) Also I need a paint ball tank and co2 line.
Not too mention I need to plants still.

I know this is taking longer than I wanted too.

Pssht. At least your making progress i need to finish my stand, buy/collect leaves and driftwood, buy fish, and buy plants.

OK...So some of the clover and the anubias that was doing very well is starting to brown. I am sure it is because of my lack of time to take care of them like I was. I am thinking about adding water for that reason. Another reason is that I need to transfer some frogbit over from the 30 breeder tank, it is choking out all the light from my other plants right now. Even after scooping as much duckweed out as I could manage and some of the frogbit. It all came back in a weeks time...

The main issue with filling it with water is NO Co2 and having a over sized light on them. I can't tackle those issues yet either.
Maybe if I dim the LED's down and just run the filter and a pinch of dry ferts I can cycle the tank and keep everything alive.

Good to hear your still working on this build man. I just went out and bought my Apistos and have my stand built but now i might need to get rid of it all :/ got accepted to a few colleges, time to move on.

Im looking forward to see some pic update to btw!

You could do an 5 on / 4 off / 5 on light schedule like I do on my high light tank with no extra CO2. It controls algae by giving the plants an extra opportunity for morning-like CO2 levels. When you turn out the lights, plants can't photosynthesize, so CO2 naturally builds up in the water because it isn't being consumed. So, by turning off the lights for 4 hours in the middle of the light cycle, you give them an afternoon advantage. That's how I do my propagation tank, and it works really well! I am seeing afternoon pearling with no CO2 supplementation at all.

Zorro is dropping knowledge young sons! Cats don't know about crazy daves 5 4 5 hours of POWER! The man is a king atop his ivory tower. He makes growing that green seem like its gods work. Him and his shovel are putting in work! and that is how we do it! Wu-tang clan, my boy yelawolf, Matlock out the windy city! cash money!

Sorry guys...that seems to happen every time I listen to rap.

Thanks Zorro for your suggestion, that was swell of you. Can I ask a question though? Co2 and lights are on separate timers correct? Oh I think I get it. For the same reason most turn off the Co2 when the lights are off, carbon-dioxide, you are using it to your advantage to enable a more robust feeding when the lights are on.

I wonder how this would do on my 30 which has Co2 injected. I tried going with an air stone during the lights ON cycle, almost gassed my fish. but of coarse that was when i had very little plants. Maybe I could go back to having the pump on only at night again. hhhmmm...
