20 gallon planted tank journal

You tank looks great! I have some amazon swords that are doing poorly. I have a 12" grow light on them and they are in a 5 gallon that's not completely full. What kind of light does your hood have?

Thank you! My amazon swords are melting. I plan on replacing the light soon, becuse it is 17 wats and 60Hz

Very nice

I would reccomend you trimming your bacopa to thicken it ;)

I trim and replant the Cabomba and Bacoba once a week when I do the gravel vac/ water change. (On friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday and do my weekly tank maintenance!!!!!!)
Im going to get 3 more ember tetras to finish of the school hopefully on sunday

Thanks LM! I am currently looking for a way to lower my ph and hardness. Out of the tap it is like 8.0. I have a charcoal filter, so the peat or almond leaves or whatever wont color my water. But will the ph and hardness still lower? Should I try peat, if so what king is best? Or should I try almond leaves, alder cones, driftwood, etc? I plan on getting driftwood anyways, to root plants on. Is there such thing as an alder tree, that I could put in my backyard, and pick the cones off of? Sorry If this is alot of questions!
