210g Build Thread....

Well, this little guy was at my LFS and I couldn't resist. Fortunately I got a picture of him (or her?) before he found himself a cave and vanished.
My sixline has not come in yet, either.
On another note, I have a friend that has a maroon clown in a small tank (left over from a larger SW tank) that he is willing to give me. But I'm thinking not, because from what I've read they seem to be aggressive, especially to other clowns (like my two little ocellaris clowns). Is my thinking right? Should I pass on this clown?
Thanks!!
Robbie

Robbie in a normal sized tank I would be skeptical that it would work.. But you have a 210.. With that size tank I would say its worth a shot. Just when you release it, make sure you do it on the opposite side of where your normal clowns are calling their home.. That way he might take some territory that is away from theirs to avoid the possible conflict.

Its at least worth the shot and if it doesn't work plan ahead with your LPS for them to take it in as credit and warn the guy you are going to take it from that this might happen to allow him first dibs on getting it back.

BTW you didn't like get a whole Schoal of these??? :) Looking good though.

They only had one Bangai.:( They did have two Pajama cardinals....but the nice guy there told me that the price was not that good ($22/each) so I'm holding off on those for now.
As far as the maroon clown I'm really leaning towards not taking it. My friend is trying to get out of the SW tank hobby and this clown is his last tie to it. So it wouldn't go back to him, I'm guessing. It's very pretty, but the thought of having to tear my tank apart to catch it on the fairly good chance that he terrorizes my other clowns is not all that appealing. I'd rather pick up two more false percs honestly.
Thanks!
Robbie

Hey Robbie, finally got a chance to get on here. Tank looks good man. I need to go ahead and get you a few easy to keep corals for that monster of a tank. Anyway, got a few pictures here, and you can see the Hippo tang that I want to get to you. As I told you, when I got him, I knew he would eventually either go to a responsible reefer like yourself or to the store's 125, so as soon as I can get him he is yours. So here ya go and I am sure I will be talking to you soon.

Sweet! Glad you made it the AC. The hippo tang is awesome....I really appreciate that.
Your tank is great! Thanks for posting pics of it.

Gee I don't know Derrick, Robbie only likes to add teeny tiny fish and inverts that hide on him. :::flee::::
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Not all of them hide. Just the sally lightfoot. And the blenny. And the peppermint shrimp. And the bangai. And the chromis get freaked out when I reach into the tank to do anything and hide for hours.
But the clowns stay out:D.
Plus teeny tiny fish make my tank look bigger.

I think you should go for those Anthias you were talking about as well.. Mine is settling into the tank.. Gets really bossy at feeding time and I'm having to make considerations for Squiggy because he is STILL scared of the darn turkey baster.. That and I'm thinking he is turning vegetarian but thats a whole nother thread.. But overall I like the Anthias.. Very cool fish and with your tank you could get the papa and the whole harem.. And he pretty much is an out front fish as well.. He does strange things from time to time.. But I am getting used to his bio-rhythms..
