210g Build Thread....

Thanks Grins and Clown. I was on the fence for quite a while, but after umpteen visits to the LFS......
And someone may have *nudged* me in my other thread:D

Well next you need that QT tank.. And then I want to see something like a PBT or even better a Sohol Tang.. Actually one of the local reefers just got a trigger that is reef safe as well.. Its a Blue Chin Trigger.. (here is a pic actually).. Maybe we'll get more fish larger than 2" in that tank yet.. LOL

Wow....that is one cool fish. I know I'm playing roulette without the QT. But most of my live stock (except for the early additions) come from a smaller LFS with a very small turnover, so most of the fish are there for quite a while-my CB was there for 6 months before I bought it. It's a pitiful excuse I know....
There is a HUGE pbt at another LFS...not for sale though. I hopefully still have a line on that hippo tang at some point from my LFS guy from his tank at home (bigger than 2":D).
Aren't Triggers somewhat aggressive? Or is it just the Nigers?
Robbie

This one is reef safe and he hasn't had a problem yet and he had a full reef.. He's the guy that I got many of my zoas, my gsp and some other stuff from.. He has a 'nem mostly SPS but a few LSP softies etc etc etc.

well i have been gone for a while, see you have a new fish! it looks real cool, i also have fish in my tank now, 2 fish and 3 snails, but anyway i have been so busy now that winter is here i been getting firewood everyday, wich is good, now i have money for my tank!!, well everything seems to be going good for your tank, hope it stays that way!, keep up the good work,
Shane

Shane-thanks! you should update your build thread with some pics of your fish (maybe you already have...)

Grins- He's' doing pretty good. He is a little picky about eating... As far as I can tell, he doesn't pay much attention to anything that I put in but brine shrimp. He does pick at the rocks, which is good. I did clip some freeze dried krill that I soaked in Garlic Guard in the tank and it disappeared pretty quick. But, I didn't actually see him eat it. I may try some fresh food if he doesn't start eating. He has an appetite and goes for things in the water, but none of it seems to please his highness...:silly:
I'll find something though.
Thanks for asking!!
Robbie

i love the idea of the blue throat trigger, it would look great... other good triggers you might consider are a crosshatch (beautiful but pricey) or a saragassum/ringens.

Yellow tang, powder blue tang, sohal, vlagami, unicorn, naso, regal! There are endless possibilities!

I have been following this thread a little bit, but i dont think i've posted on it, or at least not a lot. Id just like to say that its a very cool thing that your doing, and the tank looks amazing. Keep up the good work.

Check out my disaster thread from one non-QT fish wiping out my entire tank. Might make you reconsider. I, too buy from a LFS that is part of a chain but each are individually run with fish that are there for long periods of time, but also new fish that come in that can bring anything in.

On another note.... yes, you need a big massive fish in that big massive tank. I'll gladly take it off your hands haha

I like to think I'm building up to the big expensive fish. Slowly. Originally, I was going to try and get some of the same fish (that I remember, anyway) that my brother had in the tank. But so far I have none.
Thanks for the comments!
