210g Stocking Ideas

I gotta second/third/fourth the bichir idea.

I own 10 myself, and they are currently residing in a 10g, 20g, soon to be 55g and a 180g.

With a 210 (what are the exact dimensions?), you can stock it nicely with a community of polypterus endlicheri endlicheri and polypterus lapradei. They are two of the largest (the largest being P. endlicheri congicus, but its not as nice looking as P. endi endi) maxing out at around 3 feet (very rare in captivity and it takes a darn long time). They are still pretty expensive though (relative to your run of the mill tetras)

If you want to go for an african theme you throw in a few synodontis for clean up and a school of large congo tetras

Heres a little peak at what your tank could look like

Where do you find fish life these? I have all the major chain Pet stores around me and a few smaller ones and I have never seen any of these. To be honest until today I never head of them either!

I would love to get the African Butterfly Fish and some type Bichir.

Stingray. With that much bottom area, and you said that you wanted something interesting..... get a FW Ray! I really don't know of very many people that have one, and it shure would be a great conversation piece.

Petsmart and Petco (the two largest chains that I'm aware of) both have P. senegalus, but they call them "Dinosaur Eels". I know that Petco also has P. ornatipinnis available from their supplier.

For the others, you can try someplace like Live Aquaria - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=1984
if you don't have a LFS near you that can order a wider variety of species.

The major chains tend to carry only the most common types (varies depending on where you live, but mostly senegals, ornates, and delhezis).

Some LFS will carry a few semi rare species, but most of the rare ones will have to be ordered online. The best place is rehobothaquatics.com . P. endlicheri endlicheri will still cost you $50-$70 american each though the others being a little cheaper

I thought I wanted a zebra pleco for awhile, then I found them online and I think the price tag was 175$  That quickly changed my mind!! Very cool looking fish though... I am looking to get a larger tank to hold my bala sharks, I think they are pretty neat, very shark looking and then plan to make my schools bigger (neons, serpaes, and black skirts) Not very exciting, but I like them quite a bit!! And of course the cory cats!!!!
