The fascination with this makes no sense at all. Why would a civilization that was far more primitive in its understanding of the natural world and the space around it have any better indication of when the world would end than a modern culture? And this is generally how things like this work: they made their claim, it was dead wrong (world did not end today clearly) so they make another claim after "deciphering" it that will be just as wrong and it may continue on for a while with new people making their claims but ultimately it will just make alot of people look like fools.
actually for the way they were livng, they were more advanced then we are today..... not talking technology wise but civilization wise........ heck for all we know, they COULD have had better technology then we have NOW.... just think about the pyramid... we cant even replicate the pyramid to a perfect standing, yet they did it back then........ so whos to say they are more * primative * then we are............ yes i am not in a good mood..
