230 Tank Build

Thanks Sploke. Out of curiosity, how often do you update/change your Avatar? :)

Not very often at all actually, I changed it recently for a mafia game but before that it had been over a year I think.

YEah -it was like a wheel or soemthing, right? Noticing your avatar prompted me to post a poll. :)

No, before this one it was a poster for cowboy bebop, the anime series.

Bulkheads

As you can see from the pic below, tonight I placed and secured all of my bulkhead fittings.

The only catch was I had to place the flange side of the CL intakes, located within the overflow wall, on the inside of the overflow chamber. Facing the other direction did not leave me enough space for a 90 degree elbow. I think it will work out for the better anyway providing plenty of clearance for the intake screen from the wall.

Good Night

P.S. stayed tune for more plumbing updates throughout the week.

P.S.S. plumbing advice is always welcome.

More Plumbing

Plumbing continues to progress, albeit slowly becuase the job can only be completed after work and becuase I am a slow poke.

Any advice on how to squeeze-in PVC runsis greatly appreciated. Otherwise, It seems to me, I have to count on having to manipulate the PVC a little bit when I am trying to cement in the last piece of each line? Otherwise, I end-up cutting a piece to short.

Looks nice. Clean install.

How you going to hook up those returns?

Is that drain glued into the bottom bulkhead? Or am I seeing a slip to NPT there?

Hi Kcress - the drain is screwed into the botoom via male thread. The top elbow of the drain is then slipped into an adapter. This way i can remover it if needed.

I have a question for you. when trying to begin installation of the closed loop returns the bulkeheads start to rotate as I tighten the NPT into each. any advice on how to get all these bulkheads, particularly the 1" to stay tight?

On your durso standpipe, i like that idea of a quick connect on a valve...
did you glue the hose into the cap?, or is it tapped? or just friction fit?

Nice update. Better you than me on the plumbing...lol.
