29 Gallon Asian River Tank Thread

Update
I had a flower/bamboo shrimp in my tank for about 2 months but he passed after a waterchange one night. So after letting the tank go without one for a longtime I finally got another little baby about 1.5" he is the cutest little darn thing and went strait for the current. I love him already. I might get another one, they arn't agressive towards eachother are they?

haha... yeah I have a ton of algae.. i'm just going to be really selective about my fauna... ive been planning my tank for almost a year... ms jinkzd got some percs and i had to jump on them.

im slowly eradicating the snails as i see them. Im not going to be adding any new plants for a while so I think I'll be able to control the snails...

i was thinking if I got any shrimp it would be bamboo shrimp though :)

^My new one is so adorable with her little fans and such. She is such a badass and goes right to the fastest and i do mean FASTEST part of the tank shes like hangin on for dear life lol. As for shrimp a few amanos or yellow shrimp wouldnt hurt anyone.

Update-Got some really nice pictures today of some of the more Micro rare stuff in the tank.Enjoy

Soooooooooo I went over my stocking ammount I said I wouldnt go over. I got 2 more redtailed rasboras.... I felt bad for my single fish that ive had in there since the start of the tank. Every other schooling fish I have kept a full school but he has been alone. Anyways after I put them in he is so happy and they both follow him everywhere(he is larger). Well the tank is super stable and there is litteraly never any nitrates. I have over filtrantion also. I mean people overstock african tanks all the time. so I feel like overstocking to keep full school is just like overstocking to keep agresssion down. hmmm I guess Well wait and see, the tank is very stable so im not worried at all.

That loach is very different from the usual "hillstream" type, the nose seems very pointy not rounded. My best advice is get some good pics & post over on loaches.com. Barbs & snails look good.
