Harlies and danios are much more middle-of-the-tank oriented fish than hatchets. Any reason you don't want to go with a gourami anymore?

the gourami disease. plus it would look a little lonely with the one fish at the top unless could do two honey gouramis.
so which would be better or more interesting?

are honey gouramis the kind of fish that looks at the outside world(my bedroom)? bc ive always wanted a fish that watches at what happens outside of the tank. and are they interesting to watch?
If you want a really high personality fish, I'd do a male paradise fish (sometimes called paradise gourami)....they're just the best small wet pets.
Another option would be bolivian rams.
Both are the type of fish that pay attention to you, the food diety. They also stay small enough to have a great life in a 29 gallon tank.
