29 gallon setup project...from scratch

Okay, lighting was inadequate...had plant die-off issues with the Coralife 20w tube (not surprisingly)..so built a hood for 6 CF 14 watt bulbs (total 84 watts, or 2.9 watts per gallon), replanted amazon swords, added moneywort and cabomba and everything is doing much better. Feeding on Seachem Flouris twice weekly.

Parameters now Ammonia 0, Nitrites o, Nitrates 10, pH 8.0 (will fall now that I need only change 10%-25% weekly). Inhabitants (following my Aquatic Plant Soil Crisis, as discussed in my '10g planted tank up and running' thread) - http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1441713#post1441713

4 zebra danios, 9 Harlequin rasboras, 1 small pleco, 4 medium corydoras.

Filtration: two hang-on-back filters (Whisper 20-40 and TopFin 20).

Substrate: Peat, Flourite and pool filter sand.

It took me a whole day to make, plus 'airing' time to get rid of paint fumes overnight. Cost about $90, including CF bulbs. Would cost less if you already had the paint...that was one of the biggest costs...also the strip of acrylic used to prevent splashes on the bulbs (even though I also have a glass cover over the tank), which is 30x5 inches, cost $12 (ouch), cut to exact size I needed.
