Looks really nice! I like your gravel colour. Maybe a piece driftwood might look nice and give some more variety in height. I finally got a small piece of malaysian driftwood in my 10 gallon tank and I love the way it looks. I vote for black background too. Congrats on the good job!

Very Nice!

msjinkzd, thanks for the link. I have read the page and it seems there is a fertilizer combo pack, that seems like it would be easy. I assume those would be safe for fish? I might still have to locate the instructions, unless it comes with instructions.

shaggbark, rbishop, klfvilla, reddog80p, thanks for posting. klfvilla, I haven't found the right piece of driftwood yet, but it would be a great addition. Dirftwood just seems to look good in most every tank. still undecided about the arrangement of some of the glass marbles they tend to distract from the plants and fish.

as for the black film, I think I will stick with the black board for a bit longer since I want to focus on other necessities first, unless I just happen to come across one, of course.

Imagine what would happen if I had the extra space and/or time and/or money! :uhoh:

:thumbsup:Looks real nice

Nice tank! You are brave---18 fish at once!

thanks h3d, fishshrod, mozart! I appreciate the kind comments.

mozart, ya, the neons and platys were an unexpected addition. All seem to be doing well placed in this tank. I figured since the tank was able to process out 4 - 6 ml of ammonia everyday that it could handle a decent load. Sure enough, all levels are quite stable with the fish including ph which was crashing during cycling.

These fish seem to be doing great! I already want to add a school of head and tail light tetras and also a school of rummynose tetras. Except I also want to save room for 2 or maybe 3 blue rams. I have a feeling there wont be room left in this tank for a school of corydoras? Maybe I'll do another similarly sized tank someday.

Any tips on what the tetras and platys would enjoy to eat besides flake food?

P.S. I rearranged the plants a little bit. Will post another picture after some more growing in is complete.

Thanks in advance!

they like bloodworms, brine shrimp,tubifex...really anything. Maybe try freeze dried bloodworms or tubifex as its easier to control portions and they last a long time. My tetras also love hikari micro wafers (for bottom feeders).
