This is my first planted aquarium. My dad used to have some but I don't remember much about them. Anyways this is what i have so far.

Tank

-29 gallon high

Plants

- Java Fern
- Ludwigia
- Corkscrew Val
- Frill (thats what it said at petsmart not sure if its right.)

Fish

Right now there is a male beta and 2 Chinese algae eaters. But they will be moved out soon. I have a new stock in mind.

- Angelfish (1)
- Cherry Barbs (10)
- Corys (8)
- Some kind of shrimp (12)

Always open to ideas.

It is clearing up really nice, but it is still a bit cloudy in these pics. But look at the difference in the pics.

I forgot to put the most recent pics on. I filled it up, put a filter on and it is clearing up nice.

Can any one ID the plant in the middle pic by the filter intake?

I'm going to post updates every 2 weeks or so so keep an eye on it!

Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong!

Looks like a very nice start. A 29g is a good size, you can do a lot with it.

You are off to a good start. Just as an alternative for the sake of something different because you ask...LOL

I would put the driftwood standing up from a corner left or right with the fork (2 prongs) going into the gravel with the stones edging a rounded area retaining back a higher level of gravel. I would then focus my plantings on that side with a ground cover for the other area outside of the retaining area. So you'll have the option of viewing your fish in the open area or seek the security of the planted corner when it matures. A background too if you're into that.

I think I might try that. Thanks

I believe that plant in the middle is Elodea, some places call it Pondweed.

Thanks! I had no clue what it was.

Thanks everyone else! Ill keep you all posted!
