Hi all,
I put some pics up yesterday but the settings weren't great on the camera. These are slightly better....
Is the red eye in the golden gourami normal? I've had her a few months and she's been fine. Having seen some really nice pics of planted tanks I plan to add many more plants.
Also any comments on compatability issues will be taken on board....
The tank also contains 4 black widow tetras.
I won't bring up the 2 sun cats or the pangassius cat because they're being moved soon as I had no idea of their potential size.

To answer your questions. The red eyes on gold gourami is normal. Those balas will out grow that tank pretty soon so you may want to consider moving them down the road.

Nice pics. You should definitely look into getting rid of the balas if you are not prepared to invest in 8ft tank for them.

Well the wife certainly won't be allowing an 8ft tank into the house! I went through an exhausting negotiation process to get a 55 gallon tank in there and that was only allowed because it fitted neatly into a corner. Just brought 2x7" Asian sun cats back to the shop yesterday as they were going to get too big and it looks like the Balas will be next. I suppose I should have done my own research but I was listening to the people in the shop who told me they'd be fine. Still my own fault....
