Ok I am thinking about this 3 gallon or the other glass one with less lighting for the office I work in, it will be on my desk and I have time to take care of it. I currently have a 6 gallon nano cube with 2 clowns and just live rock (been up and running 2 years and fish seem happy) and a 20 gallon fresh tank with just plastic plants and 5 fish at home. I want to only use live plants and a few small fish maybe cardinal tetras something colorful and how many can I put in safely. I am new to this planted stuff so help me out. Heres a link to the tank. Thanks.

A betta would be the only thing you could keep in there, but if you find a nice & active one, it should be just fine. One of mine (Mr.Betta) has a cave in his tank, and he comes up to see what I'm doing every morning. A school of cardinals won't do that, and they won't fit in a tank that small either.

you could check out inverts though, you could have some cherry shrimp in there which are vibrant and fun to watch and do great in a planted tank.

well I was just talking to some office people and am bumping up the tank size to 10 or bellow I prefer to do a all in one kinda deal like in the link above and want a few fish as the tank will have its own table now and won't be on the desk any suggestons? Thanks looking to spend about 100 total w/o fish for now just setup

You can make a planted 10 look very nice with a Beta and school of neons or other small fish. IMO Betas are about the most atractive FW fish you can add as a center piece to a small tank.

now were can i get this planted ten or twelve I was thinking the eclipse but apparently not enough lighting power I would like setup assembly wise to look as clean as possible. Should I piece it together what do i need etc??? Thanks

I've got a paradise fish and a snail in my planted 2.5 tank on my desk. He's a lot of fun. We sit and stare at each other 5 days a week.. I've got the lighting on a timer and my plants are doing well. I feel him twice an Monday and Friday and he goes through weekend just fine.

I think I am going to go with a 10g tank bout locally can grab one for ten or so bucks what kind o lighting can i use I was in a lfs tonight and spotted a 20inch long 40 watt light and canopy type thing for $80ish I know I can get it cheaper online but finding what I need seems to be the challenge. And can some one shw or tell me the filter I need ans the media for it thanks.
