Pretty much anything with fins longer than 1/2 an inch. Why are you set on tiger barbs? There are barbs that would work and look similar.Apart from long finned fish what other fish should you avoid with tiger barbs?

Rosy and cherry are good but i need to know what kind of look you're going for. What other barbs would you suggest and what would be good to keep them with
I agree. A school of 12+ is recommended. Your also limited on the type of gourami you have. Ive keep them with an opaline gourami before.Five band barbs? I have seen people successfully keeping tiger barbs with gourami's, the trick is to get a large school of tiger barbs, just 5,6,7,8 isn't a school...
Would 12 tiger barbs be fine in a 40 gallonI’d prefer to with the cherry barbs
Now are there any other tetras/rasboras you want? I like to narrow it down to 2-4 and then do lots more research from there. I like emperor tetras and kerri tetras a lotI’d prefer to with the cherry barbs
With the BA tetras? Maybe. I, personally, like one big school of something rather tank two different schools. I thank that the TBs the middle of the tank may end up over crowding the BAsWould 12 tiger barbs be fine in a 40 gallon
If I just keep the BA tetras as one school what other fish could I keep singularly or in pairs/threesWith the BA tetras? Maybe. I, personally, like one big school of something rather tank two different schools. I thank that the TBs the middle of the tank may end up over crowding the BAs
