We'll have to see how the plants do with just the 1 fixture at first. 18" fixtures aren't the easiest to find, so I'm robbing the 20" off the fry tank of neglect in the kitchen. The jerk ultima can go fight it out with the angels downstairs, lol.
I'm beginning to think the light might need to be switched. Maybe it's the bulb, or the reflectors, but the cf bulb isn't really getting the kind of light penetration I was hoping to see towards the bottom of then tank. I can't imagine it'll get any better once all the scaping and plants are in place. Thinking about one of those fancy square LED panels I keep seeing on DB. The piece of dw on the left will be staying in that position, but the branch on the right will be placed under it, and another piece of wood is on the way to anchor out the right side. The front of the tank will be entirely leaf litter, and I will be using cat litter clay to cover the back and parts of the side.
This project has been going slow as molasses recently, and I really want to get it up and running well before the frog convention that's gonna be in Staten Island in May. Hopefully once the other wood comes, I can get to doing some more substantial work.
Dangit, IDK why that always happens. Can a mod please turn the pic the right way? It shows upright on my computer, then uploads like this...
Thanks, Paul! I know the more powdery tillandsias won't do well, and they aren't permanent fixtures. Here are a few more pics of some of the stuff that's been growing in the tank.
