300gal Reef.

I believe this is the skimmer my friend is running. I know it is a Reef Octopus, I think it is this model.. and it works extremely well... as good as any bubble king skimmer I have seen in action for a fraction of the cost.

He is supposed to be putting up some new pics any time now.. if he would stop browsing this thread.. I see you Guillo1. LOL.

So the wife and I were looking at houses and she was all into number of bathrooms, yard size, closet space, ect.
All I could think about was man where can I put a tank. I did find a nice house with a basement I could finish into a fish room!
The patients required for this hobby will kill me someday...at least I've had some time to start saving specifically for the tank. I've seen some good deals on Phoenix craigslist for tanks. I'm hoping to get one once I have the house issue settled.

It is like a very expensive SCWD that actually works

I like that comment!LOL

I sure do like a built in, and that peninsula looks great, just keep in mind access for cleaning and maint.
Nice to have a room behind for a fish/equip room, or a spot where you can go through garage would be even better.
10g is a pretty good estimate if you really shop around, not sure if you will be doing cab work or building yourself or not.
Lots of people ditch big systems cheap since many can't accomidate them.
Make sure to check into a good RO/DI, you're going to be making ALOT of water for changes, and since paying for your own water, may want to look at low waste systems.

So we put a bid in on a house. I've kinda started the planning phase. I talked with the wife and we decided that a 125g would be a little more feasable.
The main tank will be 48x24x24. I had a neat thought to do two refugiums on either side of the main tank. Kinda like this:
What do you guys think? I thought a 1/2 inch bulkhead going from the main tank to the refugium and from the refugium to the sump.
Put some cool things like clams/shrimp/seahorses in the refugium.
