I think I'm going to add my live sand to the sump instead of the main tank. I want to keep that real clean sandbed look. I also think I want a jawfish. I should be able to grow calurpa and mangroove plants with a crushed coral sandbed right?
Heck, you can even grow mangroves straight in the water column if you wanted to (better looking roots).
As for the jawfish, they need variety in particle sizes in order to keep up their burrows.
Most people just use aragonite, or something suitable for a long term dsb, and then add small amounts of crushed coral for support.
Good luck
