38G Riparium

I didn't realize they're plastic... that's good. the more holes the better, imo. circulation is your friend with planters like these. I've used both suction cups and magnets... the magnets are a lot better if they're strong enough. suction cups all eventually fail under the weight. the rubber coated magnets also slip less on the glass, as long as the glass is clean.

Thanks mellow! I'm gonna get a few more, I found them at target for a dollar each. With magnets, I'll get them online since theres good deals

something to consider before you spend a ton of money on magnets and jars... you could probably spend the same money and make a nice, single planter ledge that is full width. for instance, I got an 18" long x 5" x 5" glass bowl/vase from crate and barrel or ikea for like 15 bucks.

I saw some of those ledges used for the bathroom and stuff, that was initially what I was going to get. Thanks!

I'll take a break with the ripariuming until I have a few more $$$ to spend around.

I lost my female swordtail. She's been looking a little skiny and sunken belly. I'm hoping it's not fish TB (my gudgeon seem to have it, but then he's fat on the other side.). I'm wondering if I should get 2 more black neons and 3 more serpaes or get a dwarf gourami.

Do you guys think I have room for a pearl gourami?

Current stock is
6 Serpaes
8 Black Neons
3 Harlequins
2 Swordtails
3 Bolivian Rams

I just checked on Aqadvisor, and you would be able to by their standards! I'm not too sure about swimming levels though

Yeah, I talked to a couple people that bioload wise, the pearl gourami should be fine but then I have a lot of schooling fish. I might end up just getting 6 Cories, but feeding would really be hard. I'll keep browsing though. Thanks for replying :)

One of my swordtail looks like it's not going to make it much longer. He has some tail deformities and it looks like it'll fall off or something. I moved him to the QT tank.

I'm thinking about either getting an angelfish (short finned to prevent being fin nipped) with my current stock of 8 Black neons, 6 Serpaes, 3 bolivian Rams, 3 harlequins and then the angelfish.
