No, it will need its own feed and pump..

Each piece of aquarium equiptment is designed to run at optimum efficiency with the parts that is included in the box when we buy it, i dont see a point of effectivly deteriating the efficiency of the kit to save time, money or space..Fair enough, fitting a different pump to a skimmer to improve that is feasable, but, joining equiptment together in this manner is believe will have a detrimental effect on their efficiency...

i just feel guilty having this monster skimmer sitting around doing nothing.. but maybe oneday we'll use it.

I don't know much about that filter. I do like my MarineLand multistage canister when I need to run it. It is uber quiet.

On the fission skimmer, you'll find all sorts of negative comments about it on the web. If you're not sure you'll use the skimmer you have you might consider trading it with a local reefer for something they have.

I don't feel so no. I'd not try to rush cycling too much...it has the added benefit of giving your pods time to multiply.
