40B stock and plans

Tank is finally filled and running. Put a small internal filter that’s cycled to seed my other filter. Gravel as from an old cycled tank, added some flora mix to the tank as well. Just have to put a background on the back of it later tonight. There are a few fish in the tank, I know not a good thing. Gotten my marble angelfish back along with 4 glotetras, 2 white skirts, and a black skirt. I have to pick up some driftwood and get plants later. The tetras I was given are not staying long, may either give them back to who gave them to me or to someone else. Using fake plants till I get live.

Took out most of my live plants out of my other two tanks and put then into the 40. Got a black background on it now and it looks so much better. I did a water change today and doing another tomorrow. I changed what the stock will be. I have someone taking the 7 tetras on Thursday. I will be picking up a new glass top for the tank and some driftwood. Also plan on ordering a new API master test kit, old one expired.

I took the internal filter out of put my Penguin 250 onto the tank. It’s an older filter, been in use for about a year. I been keeping an eye on the fish for any signs of stress or any ammonia burns. I still have to get a new test kit, but water changes every other day till I can get one. The penguin 250 isn’t staying on the tank long(sold my 37 gallon tank and the Penguin 250 is going with it) but I’m going to put the cartridge into the Emperor.

I took some water to get it tested, will be getting a new test kit soon. I had no ammonia or nitrites, my nitrates were around 20-40, which isn’t horrible. Technically it means my tank is cycled, I will be pulling the small filter off tonight, but putting the cartridge in the big filter to help for a bit longer. I did pick up 6 male guppies, they were to pretty to pass up, and a new glass top!

I rescaped my tank and waiting on plants I ordered to arrive to fill the back. I did pick up 3 Rams, 2 more kuhli loaches, and a clown Pleco. Also got some spiderwood.

My stem plants came in, not sure what they are yet. But they came in healthy and bright. Decided to swap around the scape a little bit. Added 11 neon tetras, couldn’t get a hold of Cardinals my angel was kept with neons in the 55 and he never bothered them.

New light on the tank. Added neons, surprisingly the angel ignores them. He was in a tank full of Cardinals so that may be why.

I bought 11 pounds of niko stone for my tank to redo it. Wanted to try something new for the tank. I also got a new canister filter as an early gift from my dad. It’s a SunSun 303B, so far I like it, keeping the old filter running to cycle the canister. After a few weeks, shutting off the HOB. i need to get more plants for my tank soon, mostly more stem plants and swords.
