4300 Gallon Plywood Build (3600+ Take 2)

Why wouldn't a gas spa or pool heater work? Pardon my stupid but I don't have N.G. available so I have to rely on electricity for heating my outdoor hot tub, that's not particularly well insulated, and it only adds about $40 a month to my bill even with the circulating pumps. Of course even though it's pretty big for a hot tub, about 400g. it's no Lake Pete, but at least you're in out of the wind and weather.

Don't know how affordable your N.G. is but electricity here is about to over take plutonium. Boy I'm glad we went to deregulated utilities here. Welp, gotta go. Have to go make sure the kids are keepin' up on their quota of coal for the day.

this might be of some help....

Zoo Med ReptTemp 500R Thermostat Remote Sensor for Reptiles

Also

we had a system using the Honeywell t775 series 2 electronic controller. You then could pick up an outdoor remote sensor, or water temp sensor. THe honeywell provides up to 2 inputs and outputs, via relays, so it would work very well for this system i think.. there are alot of options out there provided by honeywell. I'll continue to look and see what else I can dig up!

MORE!!!

The Honeywell PT3000 Electronic Temperature sensor would work out well i think it's a non metalic sensor, and I believe it can be attached to many of the honeywell controllers.

I have been looking on DTIcorp.com and they have a bunch of stuff..

foolishfish - I don't think the gas version can be run indoors and if I remember correctly they are pretty steep in price as well.

rithunder916 - I'll check that out thanks.

frigginchi - Maybe so, but I'm sure I'm not the first person on the planet that needs a submersible probe.

Ordering initial test gallon of liquid rubber as Permadri recommended to me to be certain it will work with the materials I used to build the tank. I'm sure it will, but you never know. It should be enough to finish out the window framing and cut in all the seams. I want to cut the seams in first with several coats before doing the rest of the tank for added strength.

Seems a reasonable action...
