4300 Gallon Plywood Build (3600+ Take 2)

A couple pieces of pond liner make coating a big tank like mine much easier. Wish I had thought to use them from the beginning. Otherwise you're constantly fighting with being stuck to the floor.

Trimmed out the tank and painted the top of the splash guard with the remainder of one of the buckets.

Tomorrow after work is a full coat. Taking half day Wednesday and Ken will be over to help work out the supports for the 55 gallon drum filters. Putting the last two coats on Wednesday; one when I get home and another late that night before bed with whatever is left.

Consulted with Jack and Ken and decided that 9.5 gallons was enough. My initial calculation of 300 sq. ft. was high. It's probably more like 270-280 sq. ft.

Removed the masking tape from the window and was impressed with how clean the edge is.

Installed the bulkheads in the 4 holes at the lower back wall. Installed the covers.

May need to tighten the nuts a bit more, but need some 3 inch fittings to screw on to have something to pull them tight.

All that's left to do for the test fill is to plumb the bulkheads.

Plan is to fill just below the window then a foot at a time after waiting an hour between each.

I'll only be able to fill to 6" below the overflow bulkhead holes since I don't have those bulkheads yet.

Looks great!

Just ordered 10 Uniseals from Aquatic Ecosystems for the 55 gallon drums. Waiting to see if anyone needs anything from Flexpvc.com then ordering bulkheads. If anyone is local to New Orleans and needs anything from Flexpvc.com, let me know so we can go in together to save on shipping.

aw man, ive been following this for months, i cant wait to see it done, i want to build my own!

I'm proud to say that we share the same model of trash bin. :)

I can't wait to see it full...and even less able to wait for it to be stocked!
