4300 Gallon Plywood Build (3600+ Take 2)

Draining it down now. It was still leaking at around 1.5 gallons per hour. Tank depth went down about 1/16-1/8 inch that I can tell over 5 hours. I had put some newspaper down to soak up what I thought was residual water, but that evidently wasn't the case.

I'm going to tame this beast one way or another...

Given that the first half went ok when filling up, are you going to check every foot of draining if the leaking continues?
2 reasons you might have the leak:

1. Pressure starts a leak in the bottom only when above certain level.
2. Leak is somewhere in the upper half of the tank.

Cheers,
Luc

There's no way to really tell with the residual water on the ground below the tank.

It could have been leaking at a lower level and not made it out until later. I'd have to give it 24 hours at each level to test it accurately. Which I should have done once I reached the 7:00 mark. I only gave it 3 hours at that point before I filled the rest of the way. No telling actually where it occured.

Good luck I have had my fingers crossed the whole time. The pygmy goats don't get very big, 50 pounds is a pretty hefty one, I mean I guess they "could" get to 60 pounds, but only from human overfeeding. I've seen one about 53 or so and she was a dubbed "Miss Piggy"

Pete, just thinking...would you not consider mixing very fine sand or dirt and have a pump circulating it...the sand/dirt would settle in the leaks you have and fix it...
