Hey everybody thanks for all the help. I have taken your advice and i COMPLETELY agree with you. The tank is definitely not totally cycled yet and very overstocked so i have removed the tetra and added a single 1/2" danio to help the cycle. How much longer?

i would like to see a photo of the neon to see if it looks happy and contented or perhaps you need to get im a friend and then it might look really smug

Well I don't have any recent photos of the tank but I have this one of my great grandpa re-sealing the tank for me. Hope this helps!

Also....

I plan on putting this gorgeous plant I'm been growing for about 10 years now (its grown a lot bigger than i expected!) in the tank for my tetra to hide in as soon as he returns to the tank. Also, in this photo is the net I use to catch the tetra. I find it works really well for me.

Ok, now I think you might be making the whole thing up.

Anyone can clearly see that is a plastic plant. Get some dwarf sag, it might help with the cycling of the tank and help if your having and algae blooms. A single 2 foot 22w tube should be enough light and you might want to add a cap of excel every few weeks.

I'm using an AquaClear 150 power filter for the tank and for heat and lighting - the sun.
