Just goes to show that fake plants can look pretty convincing! I like using fake anacharis (one of the best imitations) and those giant "fancy plants"

They might leave hornwort alone if you feed them veggies sometimes. Mine did, but they got fresh cucumber, squash or zucchini weekly.

Hmmmm... I haven't tried those veggies. I tried lettuce and apple peels but they didn't like em. Any special preparations for zucchini or cucumber?

Other than anubias or Java ferns they would tear almost any plant up at least from what I've heard. I haven't tried it tho.

My mbuna destroyed anubias and Java ferns that originally were in my tank.

Of course it depends on the personality. I had java ferns in mine and they did fine.
