55g Planted tank (The Start)

The potential looks like its going to be a great looking tank!

My Rummy nose have decided to attack the leaves my Blyxa Aubertii it's driving me nuts as I just added the plant. I'm hoping the growth will out pace the damage would you say it Blyxa Aubertii is a fast grower?

Thanks Jay, so far my rummies dont touch any of the plants. I noticed that when the aubertii has been planted and had not been moved/disturbed for atleast a month, the growth rate will increase fast. My mature plant had been sheding leaves here and there but its also shooting out new ones few times a week with flowers so the loss isnt really noticed.

wow! Quite the before and after....Lookin good BK - can't wait to see what you do next. :)

Looking terrific!

Nice BRO...

you get your aubertii yet?? check out mine, would look sweet in your tank :)

Don't ask.... still not here and its gonna be DOA once it arrives. It's my fault due to a Paypal addy mix-up (grrrrr). I'll be checkin' out PTF for more. In the interim, the japonica are yellowing just a bit as they settle into my tank but otherwise all systems go. Spent the entire day installing the new gamma UV.

Havent updated in a while..
Nothing major going on with the tank. Im still being stupid and keeping the floaters which multiply so fast to cover the whole tank top within a week. But im slowly getting rid of them.. need to get the upper hand in this lol.
After looking at my older posts of the tank i noticed that my lighting over the months has greatly dimmed. So i went and ordered new bulbs from Drfoster along with some glass versa tops.. Finally will minimize the 6" weekly evaporation :)
The bulbs were a had decision.. I was going back and forth between 10,000K and 8,000K from allglass but went with the 10,000K for extra brightness. Cant wait to get the bulbs, right now the tank has a 5500 and 6500K bulbs so these super daylight bulbs should be interesting lol.
If the lights make a difference in the plant growth, then maybe ill consider getting some of the harder to find plants like erio :)
Also I hope to soon get a few BN plecos for the tank, who knows maybe will have luck breeding them.
Will post some tank shots after i clear everything out :)

Thanks for reading.
