55g tang ideas

Agree with all above and here is the skinny on my 55gal and most of you have seen my photos for some reason my setup works i have 20+ multi's to the right and 12 brevis to the left and a mated pair Transcript's in the middle i do have a couple of oddball fish in here but i am unable to catch them and do not want to disturb the shell fields..

My faithfull weekly water changes and monthly filter maintenance i dont have any issues but i am getting to a point where i need to start getting rid of some multi's they breed like rabbits but as for anyone who have raised shellies once the hand from the fish gods goes in everyone ducks into a shell makes for a nightmare of who went where..

Its all debatable on what we should do as in stock lists when it comes to an aquariums my main goal is that everyone is eating and healthy which i believe they are and on occasions i will get a royal rumble but its merly a spat and then its over..

also would these work??? Neolamprologus leleupi Orange and Neolamprologus helianthus

In a large setup you will be ok if you go with 3 or 4 Lelupi and 1 helianthus and i have a friend who has 5 Helianthus all males and about 20 Mid sized Lelupi that he had from a spawn last year in a 75gal and they all live quite nicely together but once you throw a female into the equasion all bets off..

As for my 120gal i have a female lone Helianthus and a harem of 6 Lelupi along with others and no issues but if i were to throw a male Helianthus in my 120gal WWIII will break out..

Also those are firecracker orange Lelupi commons like mine are yellow..

ah i think i still like the julies better.

ok so here is the current plan:
multies on one side
brevis or occies on other side
masked julie pair in the middle

is there anything else i can add

Sounds like my 55gal (sweet) you may want to stick with the brevis, occe's are little more aggressive and the transcript's are the smallest of the Juli's but sounds good and if you really want to try the occe's go for it.. sounds good..

i may switch to brevis instead, and i almost forgot to about 8 rainbowfish (i think im gonna do either praecox or boesemani) to the stocking.

is there anything else you can think of that might work????

Striped peacock eel. I got one years ago before I found elipsifers and it's a great fish. Once they acclimate they are active and rarely hide. The multies are my only fish that bother it, and it doesn't even care about their attacks. Another plus is they keep your fry in check.

Do you have a scientific name for that eel?

I wouldn't add anything else, mainly because you want to be able to have to flex room for fry. Once they start going they don't stop.

Also, bosemani's aren't the greatest choice IMO for this tank size. Stick to praecox or any other smaller species.

I'd guess that any of the spiny eels are big enough to take an adult shellie if they were hungry.

wait! i thought that boesemani rainbows stayed small. so other than praecox what kind of rainbow can i get for this setup?

and if praecox are my only reasonable option where can i get some for a good price?
