Stuff doesn't add up. Stuff doesn't make sense.

I agree, I saw a bit of it on the news yesterday after they found the kid, and the Dad's reaction was odd, it seemed really forced/fake to me, and really, the kid was hiding in the attic for five hours? I also find it hard to believe a 6 year old would sit in an attic for five hours and make no sound/get bored etc.

I don't know... If you're in that situation, thinking that your 6 year old son might be 7000' off the ground in an aircraft with a flimsy bottom, the first normal thing to do would be to call the police, the air force, every airport in the area.

The first thing this dad did was call the media.. . . .

hmmm...

PR Stunt! i knew it from the very beginning! there wasnt enough helium in that thing to lift a 6 year old and this 'pseudo inventor' and frequent 'wife swap' family (the TV show) should have known that from the beginning. a news channel also had an 'expert' on the air with them the whole time, that idiot should have known this as well...

"INSANITY!" Is the thought which leaps to my mind ...

Decades ago, we all would have gotten a good laugh out of the whole thing; been thankful for a happy ending--and all went home.

They now want to "come up with a bill" to start handing out to people. Come on, all those cops are already being paid. We already have those planes/helicopters on standby. It is not like they went out and hired a bunch of new people with inflated salaries. This was one good exercise for them and will help make them more professional--I only wish something like this would have happened before 911--perhaps they could have learned and handled that much better!

Even if that was "one pulled on me", I am darn happy over it--the excitement was great! Kept my interest!

Now it is time for all the talking heads to go do something good; and, not plan on how to bring criminal charges and expensive fines over a harmless hoax, if indeed, that was what it was ... my two cents.

Regards,
TA

Even then this is a double edge sword, What if something DID happen while everyone was out scurrying to watch a ballon and wasting tax dollars. Those AirForce helo's and planes are on standby for a national emergency, not someones PR stunt.
