65 gallon LJ project

Unfortunately, my blue damsel died yesterday, she spent 26 months with me, more than two years and I honestly don't understand her death, I can only attribute it to stress, in any case my clown fish looks good. On a separate note, my friends from the LFS, have an import that arrives today, a couple of interesting fish are on their way :).

These last days I have added a couple of special fish, and some low requirement plants, I hope they adapt well and expand as much as possible. My friends from the LFS had an Apistogramma macmasteri for me, however it did not arrive in the delivery of their suppliers, a pity. Either way, an army of 70 neons came for them, and between like some polyzones a pair of Axelrodia stigmatias tetras, an incredibly difficult fish to get here. So I immediately told them that those tetras were mine, it didn't matter that they were only 2. However, among all the neons it was impossible to remove them from the bag, so I decided to let them rest in the store tank for a couple of days, just to get there and discover an empty tank and when asked what happened, only 10 neon tetras were sold and the 60 leftover fish had died, including the Axelrodias, I just couldn't believe it.
That happened a week ago, on my first visit to the LFS I purchased a German Blue Ram, awesome fish! I love its colors, it was supposed to go into the tank with Apistogramma macmasteri but well, nothing to say.
Here you have the beautiful German Blue Ram, after acclimatizing I noticed that he had a bit of Ich in his pelvic fins, but the problem was solved a couple of days after he was feeding in a good way.

Today I had the opportunity to get a Polka-Dot pleco. I am very happy with this guy, as you will remember that 2 Snowball plecos, arrived dead in my previous orders, so today finally there is a pleco like this in the tank. Today I have 2 plecos, after the last one I had was in 2007. Also, Leporacanthicus galaxias was with my LFS friends, but I decided on the Polka-Dot, here you have it:

Looks amazing!
What tem are you keeping tha tank at?
GBRs like warm water. IMO 80 is the minimum but they fair best at 82-84. But that is too warm for most of the other fish in your tank.

Nice!

Your female ram looks ready to go! Any plans for a male for her?

I like your new pleco too, very handsome! clown plecos are a long time fav of mine.

What lighting do you have? It seems like a spotlight, very moody...

You need to trim off some of those older sword leaves, they were likely grown emersed & adjusting to your tank.

Here where I live the climate is hot, the temperature of the tank runs at 26°C, and at its maximum point of heat in the day it rises to 27°C, so the air conditioning helps a lot. On hotter days it can reach 28°C, even 29°C but that means the temperature outside is 39°C outside, and the air conditioner is off.

I have no plans to match the ram, do you assure that it is a female?
I am using two cold light bulbs as lighting, because I have low requirement plants, I am thinking about adding a third bulb for the left side of the tank, but I will do this when I add more plants in that sector. I am HEAVY for plants, they even wilt using high quality substrates and being easy plants. I have cut the leaves of the Amazon sword before, can you recommend any additive for plants? I really am very bad, I cannot say the same about land plants, I am a good gardener :)

I love the pleco clown too, he has been shy since he arrived due to his nocturnal nature, but this week he has come out in the light of day on many occasions, this photo was taken a couple of hours ago:

More light. Check pH and KH /CO2. Easy plants don't need a high quality substrate nor an additive. Your bulbs (fluorescent?) seem very short it is assumed for light that you use light all along the tank not just a spot. What kind of bulbs are they exactly, do you have any specification?
