I think the only reason I have 2 cardinals in with my angel is that there is heavy plant coverage for them to hide in. I wanted to fish them out but what's good for little fish to hide in also makes for a tough time netting.

totally agree:)

but now since i am switching out the large adult angelfish, will the rest of the angels(small) get along fine with schooling fish.
This incident has got me worried as I am getting green neon tetras and they grow up to be 1/2 the size of adult caridnals at only 1".
So do u guys think the schoolers will be okay as long as I keep them with baby angels which will grow up to be adults and then I think they will get along fine as they r used to each other, right???

btw, no other angels are showing signs of aggressiveness, etc.

what, the green neons???

should I just take out the angels from my stocking completely and put in some other fish or what???

*btw, i think i'll just try removing the big adult angel 1st and then see how it goes.

thanks

I believe green neons are part of their natural prey in the wild. Even if they weren't, the size makes them incompatible. I've heard of regular neons working with angels but I wouldn't stock mine with them just because it looks risky as a permanent stock plan.

Its really up to you how you stock, though, some things work for some people and not for others.

yeah, i understand that now, and i cannot keep the large adult angel(my favorite angel) as he/she will naturally harm my other fish which will get too expensive to keep replacing.

My angels have always grown up with cardinals or other small tetras around them and they have never gone after them. If you introduce them later on you have a better chance of them being food.

I totally agree with u, and I am going to remove the adult angel, and then add the green neon tetras with the baby angels so the angels grow up with the tetras, and are used to them.

I also found another fish that was missing half of its tail this morning. I can't find it anymore. Right now the count of rasboras is 14, I started out with 16. There is 1 dead, and 1 missing which is most likely dead. I will take the angelfish to the LFS by this Friday.
I'll get some more plants then too, and post more pics later.

Any recommendations on what fish to get if I want to remove all my angelfish???
