finished aquascape yesterday, :)
doing 72G on fri, bc i have speech and debate this whole week;)

Sorry, but shouldn't you like be studying? I study almost every night for exams :P

also, ehem, 200gal and you haven't sorted out the problems of the other tanks like you said you would?

What problems are left?

and if i got a 200G, there couldn't be ANY problems, but that is MAYBE coming in 1 year

idt that there are any probs. left?

except the breeding pairs, but those are currently okay, the GBRs are still young, they prob. have like 4 months before they breed, the gold rams are both male, and separated, the angels have been sold, the only thing left is to sell the cobalt blue hi fin discus BUT that is after it gets like adult

and btw, i was just watchign like 2 secs ago, my hi fin discus was attacking my bolivians, lol
]
its like 1/2 their size;) brave little guy/girl';)

and for school

i had a private azn tutor in 6th, and 7th grade, so i am done with up to 11th grade for everything except espanol, i have to study for that, but not that much;) and anyways, its only the 3rd week of school for me, we get only 7.5 months of school, 2.5 months vacation, 0.5 month x-mas, 1 week ski week, 1 week thxgiving, and lots of toehrs;)

I'm just going to throw this out there...

I know you are only 14, BUT before making such a huge investment also consider what you will be doing in a few years. Are you going to continue your education? If so, is there a possibility you will not be near home often enough in order to take care of such a large tank?

Not only that but consider where your life is going to be even while still in high school. At one point I had three tanks (10g, 30g, 55g). Eventually I became way too busy and narrowed it down to my larger two. I was hardly able to even keep up with those. Then I realized that I would be going to school 6.5 hours away so I sold off everything in my 55g (kept the tank for future use) and eventually I had to rehome most of the 30g to downgrade to the 15g I kept in my dorm room. Even that seemed like a hassle at times!

Personally, I couldn't imagine trying to figure out what to do with something as large as 200 gallons when I was already freaking out about what to do with tanks much smaller. I guess if your parents are up to making the investment and/or are willing to take care of it should you end up leaving home for school in the future then go for it...I guess my point is that you have a long time to be keeping tanks, you're only 14. Don't try to over-do-it now and get put in a bad position down the road.

This could all be completely inapplicable to your personal situation, but if not, again, please consider all of this before making such a big decision.

i completely agree with you, but for college, im doing only something near by(within CA), and for the 200G, it is for my parents, and my dad will maintain it, he helps out with my tanks, and he himself is getting a fluval chi and ebi for his nightstand and one in his office.:)

im also going to split the breeding thing in 1/2

i was planning on breeding discus, angels, shrimsp, etc.

now im only breeding the angels, shrimps, and rams. nothing else, only corys if i have enough time, but im starting with that;)

i have and did take into thought about the 200G, but that won't be for me, i said it is only if we buy the new house, and it will be the show tank in the living room.

it must be nice....

idk if ur being sarcastic or actually nice, but either way, it doesn't matter as it is for my parents, yes, i will help with the decisions, and main aquascape, but other than that, my dad will be doing the maintenance for it after i leave for college

and for the really good colleges i am planning on applying(and hopefully accepted when the time comes), they are withing 50 miles;)

those colleges allow in the dorms tanks up to 100 gallons, yes, not 200, but i will probably be living in an apartment, bc they charge a load of moola for the dorms;)

maybe go to a college somewhere close to where you vacation often. my grandparents are probably buying a house close to the college im going to so all of my animals(my zoo) will stay there so i can keep up with them.

I think Sparkxx was mentioning your problems with some of your tanks. The ram with whatever it has, overstocking on some tanks, die offs, etc. Just because you get a bigger tank does not mean there is no problems. Wish that was true.

I hope you have enough tanks for breeding. It's not as easy as it looks. Good luck with the house too. I know my parents were stress during that time.

Must be VERY large dorm rooms...
:)

But yes, do manage your time, especially once you get older (high school and college). College is way more different and difficult than regular school, especially when you have to take your upper division classes for graduation. I barely find time to breed my killies and have my brother or parents help out when I don't have time. I do work part-time though...
That's the thing about staying home instead of out of town in dorms. Free rent, cleaning, and help :headbang2:
