If the anubis will be happier if the rhizome isn't buried. Attach it to a rock/pot/driftwood

Yeah, I keep it with the rhizome sticking out, but, so far from a 3 leaf 5" giant anubias it has grown into a huge 15" 15 leave + giant anubias planted in gravel. I'll put it on DW eventually, or maybe sell it, as its roots take up way too much space, and leaves open areas around it, and cannot be surrounded with plants. Just wondering, did u find any more pieces of DW near ur lake?

thanks

Ah ok, it was hard to see the roots of the plant from the picture. But wow that's crazy growth! My Anubis is very slow growing.

It's been very stormy here and it's coming on finals week, I haven't really had a chance to look.

What do you have this tank sitting on? A 72 can easily top 600 lbs and if you have that on a table as it seems you do I would be worried about the table flexing or worse.

I know, it is crazy growth, but i'm not complaining:)

I'm having my finals in like 2 weeks with exit exams and the State Testing this week and next week. My anubias used to grow like 1 new leaf every 2 weeks when it was in my 20G with a 15 watt plant bulb, but now it is growing very fast.

Thanks for your concern, when I started the tank up on the stand, it was bowing and the stand was straining, but now I have 8 bricks under it for support, and there are no problems. The tank actually ways ~900lbs right now. Don't worry, this is not a permanent stand, as I am buying/building an ADA stand and will transfer it by the end of this summer. My summer project or an emptying of my dad's wallet.

Yeesh.... I do worry because even a slight bow in the stand can translate into stress on the seams of the tank and if great enough will result in failure.

^, but now there is no bowing at all, we used a leveler to check, and if there ever is, we have car jacks that we used to lift the tank and stand from both sides so there is no chance of failure. I will be making a stand/buying a stand before the end of summer, I don't think anything is going to happen, as most incidents occur in the 1st couple months and this tank has been running on the stand for over 2 months. I don't think anything will happen and I don't hope anything will happen. :)

they can really happen at any time, as gradual pressure slowly begins to wear it down. Have fun with the clean up, it's a blast.

It won't happen as there are car jacks and bricks under it supporting it greatly. btw, there is no bowing at all on the stand or tank. Just saying, there was a problem, but there isn't now, i know there still is a slight risk(~5%) that something could happen before i change stands which will happen before August.

*IF something happens, it happens, and i'll deal with it.

Since so many of u guys think it will still fail me, I'll put some more bricks, other things under the stand to support. I'll even leave the car jacks there until I change out the stand.

R there any other things that r wrong with the tank setup, any suggestions NOT including the stand.:)
