I just came back from petco with 4 julii corys, 3 emerald corys, and 1 pack frozen brine shrimp for $25!!!!!!!

they are in the quarantine right now

I think you mean trilineatus corys? I only seen limited real julii corys before.

HELP!!!

i am pretty sure they are real, i'll do a bit more research later

i am really worried for my tiger shrimp

so I have a 10 gallon shrimp tank

i have had all these fish in it for the past 3-5 months

16 angel babies(1")
10 yellow shrimp+
10 Tiger Shrimp
5 RCS and 6 Blue Pearl Shrimp(separated in floating breeding traps)
2 assassin snails
MTS, and common snails
1 red male betta(scared)

so, 3 days ago, I found 2 tiger shirmp dead, just pinkish
today i find 2 more dead
yesterday i found 1 dead

they are all pink and curled up

i have a thread in inverts too, but hardly any replies, the parms are perfect, no copper, the rest of the shrimp/snails are all okay

I am feeding BBS(not live), could that be it?

please help:help: im really worried, i paid $5 each for these, and only have 5 left

solved the problem of shrimpies dying, my evil assassin betta

well, how long do you guys think I should quarantine the corydoras, I only bought them because my petco had done a total change of fish(they moved the fish into species sections finally, the angels were put in the cichldis, etc. And amazingly, 0 OF THE 15 ANGELS had fin rot!!!!!
I only saw and counted 10 dead fish which is amazing compared to the old average of 2 per tank(50+ total).

so how long?

I am thinking 1 week?

ottos are going in quarantine, shrimp are going in shrimp tank

Quarantine should be for at least 2 weeks with 3-4 weeks being better.

I know you are excited but why buy more shrimp when your current ones are not doing well?

So the ottos, go into QT with the cory and a new discus...? Once you find it that is....

Face it young man, you need more tanks! If you got a double decker stand like this:

You could put another 10 gallon tank on the bottom. It can be your angel grow out tank, because a shrimp tank is not compatible with growing angelfish babies. Nor bettas, as you have found.

I kind of think you know about the incompatibility issues in your tank, but you just hope for the best...it's much better to play it safe and stick with what is sensible. The cost of operating another 10 gallon tank is minimal, and a complete kit can be gotten at Walmart for less than $50. I like those Walmart kits with the twin incandescent sockets - a couple of daylight compact fluorescents will grow a wide range of plants

this is what is currently and permanently in the QT

1 baby discus
3 emerald corys
4 julii corys
5 RCS
(and floating in breeder traps, orange shrimp, and blue pearl shrimp)

I do have another 10G, but this is temporary, my fish rack(4 55Gs, 4 20Gs) will be setup once I move in the new house, no room for it in the garage currently.
