Actually, I didn't just say it was old age, i said i think it could be that, not that it is and case closed........lol

abd btw,

i did say a while back in this thread a few times about a particular cory being super lazy, etc.

the fins weren't clamped or anything, it was definitely a female, as it was pretty big, bigger than the males i have(now i have 1 female and 2 males:()

still looking at other possibilities, it could be possibly that i accidentally hit with a large rock, bc i was moving things around 4 weeks ago, and dropped a few pieces, but i think they are agile enough to dodge as it accidentally slipped from my hands, it seems impossible to me for it to be hit/injured by falling decor as even in pet shops, the netters rapidly move/drop decorations and no fish die/get hurt

still thinking

and for the ram, the pics are very very bad, it looks nothing like the actual thing

at first, it was a bright white and like most bruises on animals, it has almost regained its color, or it is a parasite:( I don't think it is, as the fish probably would have gotten sicker, and less active, as right now it is eating like a pig, fighting with other males, etc. the usual;)

may get medicated flake food as a precaution???

When I had 4 of my cories, they were fine and then one day one of them got stuck between a rock and the glass, he suffered from internel bleeding afterwards and lasted a few more hours before dieing. There are plenty of things that could have gone wrong, even if they weren't a disease, if she got stuck in something or other, the redness would be harder to see due to it being an albino one (I am assuming it was the albino one) maybe try varying the diet more, to stop some possibilities (constipation etc) like de-shelled peas and such.

As for the ram, it sounds like a parisite, I find it hard to believe it got bruised considering its tank mates. I would isolate him, and do the salt treatment.

Depending on the parasite, it could have easily spread to other fish. I would medicate the entire tank if possible, if not make an extra point to watch the tank carefully from now on.

What would you medicate with? Given that you don't know what the fish may have had. Watch close...absolutely. But please only medicate when you can make a definitive diagnosis!

+1, no offense ff1

but i never medicate until i know what it is

when i was talking about meds, i was saying to get med flakes on stand by so im ready

UPDATE!:)

so, the gold ram is looking beautiful, i need a pic;) my new 28G tote breeding shrimp tank is ready with parms.....
fishless cycle btw

ammonia-0ppm
pH-7.2(DW)
nitrate-not sure if i remember(tested yesterday)-2ppm?
temp: 76Fish

cool it looks like 76 fish, but is supposed to be 76F (ish)

gold ram looking great, bump is looking really weird, more outwards now, but now the scales over the bump are back to its original color, im going to hand examine it tonight

baby discus is doing GREAT!

super blue now, and its fins are amazingly hi(had to be, hi fin discus:))

bolivians are great, just mad at seller as he/she sent me ALL females:( will talk to him/her about that:)

okay, will think about isolation, it hasn't spread to even the other gold ram(while it was in the same tank), or the GBR pair:) as for albino cory, it was reddish at the belly, and eyes, its an albino long fin;)

not reddish really, but the normal pinkish u see on the other albino type corys;)

it for sure could have squeezed into the DW, there are over 10 caves that i can see, and probably another 4-8 extensions from those or other ones i haven't found

planning on moving new corys into the 72G tomorrow, and angels then too:)

bolivians will stay for a while, and then the angel pair will have the 20G all to themselves and their future 2nd batcH!:)

bump;)

ok, I doubt it it contagious UNLESS its internal also, just keep watch on them, but isolation would be good.

albino cories have red eyes anyways, and yeah as I said, it would be hard to figure it out :/ its a possibilty it could have been wedged in there and finaly escaped while you were at school etc

and also, a pair of angels in a 20g is to small IMO

not really;)

angel breeders use 20Gs or 29Gs, nothing bigger, anyways, daily 25% WCs, a 70G filter, and a giant anubias for spawning, its perfect

they did it once!:)

well, didn't get too transfer the corys, but will do that tomorrow, with the angels. Then 1 more week left for bolivians, and then they go in too, and the angels get the tank back.

canceled co2:) for now, as im too busy to keep emailing gla;)

sadly, my heater broke on the shrimp tank while i was at school, and all my tiger shrimps and yellow shrimps are dead:( except for 1 baby tiger shrimp, idk how it lived:(
broke bc it wouldn;'t stop heating, and when i came back it was at 88F:(

may use that for crays?

do u guys think 4 crays would be fine in a 10G? Or would hte 28G tote be better?
thx

hate aqueon heaters:(

will put them in after piano';)

do u guys want pics?
