Thought this was a planted tank?

it was a planted tank, but had major algae issues, new pics with plants soon

and AAF, but it is going to be fine for a few months..................

i hope so at least, or i'll sell it to somebody with good experience

just got the shrimps!

put them in my dad's fluval ebi. I hope he doesn't sell it. He was actually planning to sell the fluval ebi because he wants something a bit smaller, i have my fingers crossed

so 2 DOA snowballs out of 15
and
0 DOA blue pearls out of 12

and guess what
snowballs SHIPPED W/OUT breather bags FROM CA(100 miles away!)
blue pearls SHIPPED WITH breather bags FROM NY(really far)

makes weird sense;)

Sheesh people.... are discuss that social that they can't live alone for a few months? Well, I have no idea, cause I've never kept discuss or attempted to, so I wouldn't know for fact either way. However, if the water conditions are right the fish should survive, even if being alone is a less then optimal condition for it.

From what I've read about them, I think that they can become stressed out to the point of death, if not in a school.

O.o seriously? it won't last a few months, it needs to be sold ASAP

r u sure? im pretty sure it will be fine, i know many people(like i physically met them b4), that keep discus alone either because they are too small at that stage, or too aggressive. It's already made it 3 months as a baby which is the most stressful point in its life where it could die, so another few months should be a breeze, i'll be watching daily for any signs, but as of now, its super active, eating out of my tank, and happy.

okay.:) but hopefully it doesn't come to that, and if that does happen, i will try to rehome it if i see any signs of stress, i have never seen this discus with fins clamped, even while sleeping.........

he/she hopefully is fine for the time being, or i'll sell it here or to the people i know who keep discus here in CA

i did quite a bit of more searching today on discus living alone, it seems that i have figured something that anybody could figure out after comparing quite a few articles

so........................

IF DISCUS IS ALONE WITHOUT TANKMATES THAT SWIM IN THE SAME REGION, it will stress A LOT, and can result in sickness or even death like cam said

BUT

IF DISCUS IS ALONE WITH TANKMATES THAT SWIM IN THE SAME REGION, it won't stress that much, if any, it seems to be true FOR NOW in my tank. I hope it stays this way or else i'll have to do something about it being if we're in new house, get a 55G BB tank for discus only and buy like 3 more babies from my LFS, OR i would have to sell it.....most likely selling it bc i doubt we'll have a new house by xmas
