75 gallon Planted Office Tank Journal

don't worry what we think about your reflection. i'd be more worried people can tell you cleaned the tank just for the pic... the glass cleaner's in the reflection still. :D

looks real good.

It really does look sharp. Already the plants are starting to look comfortable in their surroundings.

Thank you. I took a peak at one of the stem plants by pulling it up, and I dont really see any root growth yet. I hope they get estabished and I see the HC start to spread. I will let you all know when that happens, but at this point I guess I am happy they are not dead. :lol2:

Looks awesome man, I read and viewed all your postings. Keep it up champ! ;)

Thanks. I was wondering if someone read through all 26 pages for the first time, if the postings and conversations are coherent enough to follow and gain value from. I know sometimes I post questions that dont really get answered, but that is becuase I bury them in this journal thread. However, I do kind of like being able to use this thread as my one-stop dumping ground for questions, answers, pictures, compliments, and suggestions. Thanks for checking it all out.

Looks great. It's nice to the the plants finally in there.:thm:

So I did some tests today, I think things are looking good. If Phosphates go any higher it could be an issue.

7 drops of Nutrafin GH test x 20 = 140. (Moderately Hard)

9 drops of Nutrafin KH test x 10 = 90 (Excellent buffer capacity)

Nutrafin Phosphate test. Between 0.5 and 1.0. (Ideal phosphate range)

pH 6.8-7.0

This is after having plants for 3 days, dosing for over a week, running co2 for over a week, and it's been 4 days since a water change.
I officially have setup and am using the automatic on/off timer for 1 bulb (out of 3) and the co2. I have the co2 and 1 pink grow bulb turning on at 8:30am each day, and off at 6:30pm. I will manually turn on the 2 other bulbs around 9:15am each weekday, with them being off on the weekend since I wont be there. I feed around 9:30am and dose fertz and trace daily at the same time on weekdays only. I dont know if this is a perfectly timed schedule, but it allows me basically to never forget anything since I do it as I walk into the office each day.
I am thinking about NOT feeding the fish on Sat and Sun, and NOT dosing fertz. I do about 30% water change on Friday afternoon, and dose afterwards which should be good until Mon morning. I probably will toss in a little food too since next time they get fed is Monday morn. I believe fish are fine going several days without food, although they do have algae to nibble on. Correct me if I am wrong.

FTS Day 3

Nothing really changed (as far as I can tell)
