Hi folks!
I thought I'd share my journey building a 92 gallon corner tank. The original thought was a reef tank, with rock piled into the corner. Since then, and since discussions with the wife the target result is now an African Cichlid tank, with black substrate and some rock work along the back walls. I'd like to mix in some plants too but not sure if they will destroy/eat them yet... Will see. I've seen a couple other great looking tanks like this and would love to do this in a corner setup.
About a year ago just as we finished major renovations of our home I picked up a 92 gallon corner tank from someone on another forum. A good friend of mine was driving across two states and picked it up for me. I always thought these were neat tanks; this one has 3 holes drilled on one flat side for overflows about 2" from top (Calfo style, I believe it's called). I"m going to use these and set up a sump, which is great for hiding filters/heaters/ATO and such.
Since I had not set eyes on this tank until it arrived, it wasn't until later I discovered a bad seal in the back corner of the tank - where the black silicone had turned a light tan/orange color

So, i had to re-seal the tank. I didn't take any photos during re-seal process, but i did take a pic of the bad section of the silicone. you can see the part that was degraded had not migrated into the actual seal between the glass, which is good news as that means just replacing the silicone inside.

You can see the 3 holes in the one side; i intend to put in bulkheads, two drains and one return.

Once I'm comfortable the silicone has cured completely i'll set it back on the stand and begin plumbing. I still need to stop by the big-box home improvement store tomorrow at lunch for some additional fittings and such...
