A couple more recipes for snail food

it's cool i'll just use the tums i've been throwing in the tank. they like them well enough. =)

wow.... deeley snello recipe = bow chica wow-wow! within two days of the first (and so far only) feeding of my concoction, i have more clutches than i can count. every single plant, each pane of glass, each rock, has at least one clutch on it, and most have several. the filter's got about four underneath it, and one plant has eight.

i think they liked it. >.>

>_<

My snails are not digging my Snello! I made the first recipe listed, I used Gerber Baby Food, Rice and Applesauce.. I added a bit of honey, and they won't touch it! :(

Sometimes it takes a several attempts for them to realize its food. I have to say though, I always stuck with predominantly veggie foods (green beans, squash, carrots, etc) to make mine and have never used food with rice in it. Good luck and keep us posted.

Out of curiosity: has anyone tried mixing Plaster of Paris into the Snail Jello?

I do both- I make the PoP pucks- and I make snail jello... just curious if a combination could be made?

I add crushed garlic so the snails are more attracted to it... only problem is- my tank smells faintly of garlic now when I do water changes if I've recently added snail food.

Eeewww...I never thought the day I'd see someone suggesting a combination of gel and plaster of Paris.:thud: I've done both but not combined. You're twisted sometimes, Wycco.lol

So i finally got my Tylomelania eating Snail-O. I added 6 capsules of Spirulina. I found a bottle of 90 capsules at wally world for 5$! They are going to town!

what do you guys think about adding veggies to plaster of paris blocks? i tried 2 types of veggies blended to make green water(not the algae lol) and used that rather than tap water, 2 flakes, and honey and not surprisingly, it turned out green :D

Sorry if this has been asked before but does any calcium work? I have Calcium+D generic for Citracal+ D
