I see more and more people (okay, like, three
) asking in their ad for people to "use paypal and mark as gift." Aside from being dishonest when in actual fact it is a payment for goods, I don't think the PP folks got to be where they are by being stupid.
If they catch you they will cancel and/or freeze your paypal account, which may include not letting you remove money you have "stored" with them. They are a New Thing as far as the law is concerned: not a bank, so they are not subject to laws governing banks; not a credit card so not covered by those laws either. They can do whatever they d*mn well want and there is no legal recourse for the user.
I like paypal and use it often. But people should be aware of what can be involved. Or to put FF's words in a cruder acronym, RTFM.
